I setup my first business ten years ago at the age of thirteen, called WEBDES7, working in my spare time building websites for the small businesses in my town. My weekends were typically spent meeting with business owners, and signing them up as customers. Over a few years this business evolved into HKMEDIA, providing both front end and backend sites and systems. I worked with a number of friends who shared similar interests to complete projects – at the height of the business; Virgin Cars was one of our customers.

During my final year of A-Level study I slowly wound the business down, the market was becoming saturated with fly by night operators and I didn’t see it as an industry to remain in. Additionally I had planned to take a gap year and work for the MOD through QinetiQ before starting University. I learnt a great deal at QinetiQ, and achieved recognition in the field of combined mathematics and electronics.

While studying electronic engineering at the University of Reading I began developing a business again. I had retained some of the web hosting custom from the previous company; it was easy work and generated a recurring income stream. I expanded on this during my last year at University and, over the last two/three years I have grow Berkeley IT. I currently employ three full, and two part time staff in our offices in Mayfair, just off of the famous Berkeley Square; hence the name, Berkeley IT.

I always work long days, and it is true, the harder I work, the luckier I get.
